Zafenta

Restaurant technology for independent restaurants: commission-free QR ordering, coalition loyalty, and a closing report that writes itself.

Wycro relationship: Zafenta is a Wycro product. Wycro Software Developers designed, engineered and operates it, and zafenta.com identifies itself as a Wycro product on every page.

Live. The marketing site runs at zafenta.com and a publicly reachable demo of the ordering application runs at app.zafenta.com. Onboarding is offered month to month, with no contract.

The opportunity

An independent restaurant owner already does the work at close: count the cash and card totals, read the paper tickets, estimate cost of goods from memory, work out the margin, and decide what to buy tomorrow. It is 1am, and it is arithmetic done tired.

Meanwhile the delivery platforms that promise to take work away take 15–30% of every order with it. The two problems compound: the tool that would save the owner time is the one charging the commission.

Zafenta attacks both at once — take the closing report off the owner entirely, and take no commission on the orders.

The product approach

The wedge is voice. At close the owner narrates the night in about a minute — sales, what ran out, anything unusual — and minutes later receives a digest by email: gross sales, margin, top sellers, and tomorrow’s shopping list. No dashboard to learn, no forms to fill.

Underneath that is a full transactional ordering product: diners scan a QR code at the table, browse the menu, order and pay from their own phone with no app install, and earn loyalty points as they go.

Loyalty is deliberately a coalition, not a silo — one diner wallet that earns and climbs tiers across every member restaurant, which is worth more to a small independent than a punch card only their own regulars can use.

Engineering and product challenges

Money makes everything strict. Real tax math, real payment authorization and real receipts mean the checkout path has to be correct on the first attempt, on a stranger’s phone, in a restaurant’s Wi-Fi dead spot.

Receipts have to leave the browser and reach physical hardware: Zafenta renders a branded PDF and also streams directly to a thermal printer, which is the format a restaurant actually uses.

The product is deliberately demonstrable. A fully working demo runs in public at app.zafenta.com with a real menu, real tax math and real loyalty points, so an owner can evaluate it before speaking to anyone — which puts a permanent correctness obligation on a surface anyone can open.

What was delivered

A transactional web application covering menu, cart, checkout, payment and confirmation, running on the diner’s own phone browser with no install step.

A voice-to-digest pipeline that turns a spoken close into a structured operational report and delivers it by email.

Coalition loyalty with tiers across member restaurants, branded receipts as PDF and thermal-printer stream, a public API backing the live product, and a static marketing site with its own lead capture.
