Jessya
A Catholic prayer app for daily prayer, the daily gospel and the rosary, shipping on iOS, Android and the web — with the mobile apps offering six selectable languages.
Wycro relationship: Jessya is a Wycro product. Wycro Software Developers designed, engineered and publishes it: the App Store listing is published by WYCRO SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS CIA. LTDA., and jessya.com names Wycro as its developer.

The opportunity
Daily prayer is a habit, and habits live or die on friction. The people Jessya is built for pray in Spanish first, often from an older phone, frequently with an unreliable connection, and usually at a fixed moment in the day. A product that only works online, only in one language, or only on a recent handset simply is not there when the habit needs it.
Jessya was built to remove that friction: open the app, and the prayer for today is already there — read or listened to, in the language the person actually prays in.
The product approach
Spanish is the source language, not a translation target. Every string, every piece of spiritual content and every audio track starts in Spanish and is localized outward, which is why the Spanish experience never reads like a port.
A language only reaches the in-app picker when a user can select it and get a complete experience — including localized audio. Translated-but-incomplete languages stay hidden rather than being advertised, so the six languages Jessya claims are six languages Jessya honours.
The app ships in demo mode as well as production mode, so the full experience can be exercised without any backend at all. That makes design review, QA and store review independent of infrastructure availability.
Engineering and product challenges
Audio is the hard part. Guided prayer means synchronized audio playback with the on-screen text, resumable across app backgrounding and interruptions, and cached so that a lost connection does not end the prayer.
The content itself is structured, dated and liturgical: the daily gospel changes every day, the rosary changes by day of the week, and the Bible is a browsable 73-book corpus with cross-lingual search. That is a content pipeline, not a static bundle.
Shipping the same product to the App Store, Google Play and the web means three release surfaces with three review processes, three sets of platform requirements, and one shared codebase that must not fork.
What was delivered
A React Native mobile application for iOS and Android, a public marketing and content web app, and a backend API with a PostgreSQL data layer, all in one TypeScript monorepo with a shared types package.
A community layer for prayer intentions, with content moderation, reporting and admin review — because user-generated content in a faith community needs a real safety process, not a hope.
Over-the-air update delivery, crash and error reporting, product analytics with a consent gate, and automated release pipelines for both stores.
